Our flagship publication, The SOFX Report, reaches more than 72,000 readers daily, including defense and security professionals, government program offices, and intelligence and policy analysts. Our growing network includes SOFX PRO, SOFX Recruiting, SOFX.NET, SOFX Gear, events, and a defense-industry job board.
Professional journalism or published editorial experience, strong research and fact-checking skills, AP style or equivalent editorial standards, excellent written and spoken English, and a university degree. Candidates must demonstrate practical technical ability with AI agents, automation workflows, scripts, or similar tools. Genuine interest in conflict, security, and defense technology is important. Reliable internet and a personal computer are required.
Research and source news stories from wire services, trade publications, regional outlets, and OSINT channels. Draft, edit, and fact-check The SOFX Report newsletter and articles for sofx.com. Ensure accurate attribution, neutral reporting, and rigorous editorial review. Prepare content, images, and captions for publication; support email and website publishing; monitor reader feedback; prepare social media content; coordinate sponsor placements; and help build AI-assisted editorial workflows, automations, and newsletter growth experiments.
Fully remote, full-time contractor opportunity (40 hours per week), paying $1,000–$1,300 USD per month based on experience. Direct training and collaboration with the Director of Media Operations and Marketing, hands-on involvement in a growing international media company, opportunities to improve AI and editorial systems, and potential for increased compensation and responsibility. A 60-day trial period applies before the full rate.
Core working hours: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time (typically 6:00 PM–2:00 AM in Serbia). Availability through at least 6:00 PM Eastern each working day is required; some flexibility in start time is possible after training.
