We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Logistics & Warehousing to lead the setup, management, and strategic development of our bonded warehouse operations. This is a key leadership role requiring expertise in customs regulations, supply chain management, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
✔ 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management (preferably in bonded warehouses or customs-regulated environments).
✔ Strong understanding of Serbian customs laws and bonded warehouse operations.
✔ Experience in team leadership, recruitment, and training.
✔ Familiarity with logistics software, WMS, and customs compliance tools.
✔ Strong negotiation skills for managing suppliers and subcontractors.
✔ Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
✔ Proficiency in English (Serbian is preferred).
✔ Valid work-permit (in case non-EU resident).
Job Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for:
Identifying and securing a bonded warehouse location.
Setting up logistics, warehousing, and supply chain operations from scratch.
Ensuring full regulatory compliance with Serbian customs laws.
Recruiting and training a high-performing logistics team.
Managing subcontractors, including mailing and delivery service providers.
Implementing technology-driven warehouse management systems (WMS).
Overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and cost optimization.
This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in business setup, team management, and logistics execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Setup & Operations
Identify and secure a bonded warehouse location that meets regulatory requirements.
Develop operational workflows, policies, and compliance protocols.
Implement logistics and supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency.
Source and deploy warehouse management software (WMS) and digital tools.
Obtain all necessary licenses and regulatory approvals for operations.
2. Team Recruitment & Leadership
Define key roles and staffing needs for the warehouse and logistics team.
Assist in sourcing, interviewing, and hiring warehouse and logistics personnel.
Provide ongoing training in customs regulations, inventory control, and safety protocols.
Set performance KPIs and ensure high operational efficiency.
3. Logistics & Supply Chain Management
Establish relationships with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and suppliers.
Negotiate and manage contracts with mailing, delivery, and transport subcontractors.
Oversee the inventory management process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Develop cost-effective logistics solutions to maximize profitability.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure strict adherence to Serbian customs laws and bonded warehouse regulations.
Monitor risk management and security measures to prevent losses.
Oversee customs documentation, tax deferments, and duty payments.
5. Financial & Performance Oversight
Monitor and optimize operational costs and budget allocations.
Track KPIs for efficiency, cost control, and warehouse performance.
Leverage data-driven decision-making to enhance logistics operations.
